Removing Worries

     I want you to use your imagination and see yourself on your favorite island. The ferry is just pulling into the dock and you see the otters playing in the water. Feel the warm breeze gently pushing your hair back. Smell the salt air. You feel so happy to be in the special place.

     As you step onto the dock you see your golf cart parked and waiting for you. The keys are in the ignition. You toss your bag into the back seat and sit on the soft cushioned drivers seat. You feel so relaxed and happy to be in this special place. You pull out of the parking place and head toward your beach house. There are no motorized vehicles on the island, just electric golf carts like the one you're driving. The white sand roads are lined with tropical vegetation. You can recognize banana trees and papaya trees. The vegetation is lush and beautiful. As you drive down the road to your beach house you appreciate the quietness and peacefulness of the island. In the distance you can hear the call of birds and hear the gentle breeze blowing in the trees. Such a calm, peaceful place to be.

     You pull into the driveway of your beach house and park the golf cart. You grab your bag and start up the stairs to the beach house. Imagine the feel of the steps beneath your feet. With each step you take you are feeling more and more relaxed. Unlocking the door to the house you step inside. The brightly colored room is welcoming. The air conditioning is on so the house is much cooler than the outside. Imagine yourself quickly changing into your favorite bathing suit. You put on you sandals and sun glasses, grab your towel and go back outside. The warm air surrounds your body as you walk down the stairs. You get in the golf cart and drive down to your favorite part of the beach. You park the golf cart and step onto the sandy beach. Imagine yourself taking off your sandals and your feet sinking into the warm sand.

     You walk down to the water's edge and breathe deeply. The salt air smells wonderful. You look out over the water and see soft waves rolling into shore. You step into the edge of the water and let the warm waves roll over your feet. The water feels wonderful to your skin. You hear the sound of sea gulls and as you look up you see a pair of sea gulls fly overhead. As you look down the beach you can see other sea gulls walking at the water's edge. Imagine taking a deep breath and feel yourself relaxing even more. This place seems to have a magical way of making you feel so relaxed. You love this special place.

     As you look back out over the water you see dolphins playing in the water. So free, so happy. Now imaging yourself walking over to a nice sandy spot. You drop your sandals on the sand and spread out your towel. You sit down on you towel and you notice a large fluffy blanket on the sand next to you. This is a special blanket. I want you to imagine putting each of the things that are worrying you on that blanket. Whatever you think each worry looks like I want you to see it on the blanket. Take a few minutes now and pile all of the worries on the blanket.

     As you place a worry on the blanket I want you to feel the lightness as it leaves your body. When you are finished putting all your worries on the blanket I want you to nod. Good. Now all of your worries are piled on the blanket. Now I want you to imagine all the sides of the blanket lifting up and meeting together. As each side touches the blanket is immediately sealed. You can't see any seams because now it is permanently sealed. I want you to imagine this big white blanket becoming light as a helium balloon. The blanket starts to lift. Nothing can leak or fall out because it has no openings. I want you to watch this balloon slowly rise up toward the sky. I want you to see a brilliant white light appear in the sky. This light is the source of all that is. I want you to imagine the balloon going up to the light. We can't destroy energy but we can transmute energy.

     I want you to imagine the balloon touches the light and is immediately absorbed. The balloon full of all the negativity has been absorbed. Now that energy is transmuted into positive healing energy. Now I want you to imagine all of that new positive energy falling from the white light. This beautiful, loving energy. Imagine this energy falling down on the sea gulls, the beach. Imagine how high the dolphins jump when this beautiful energy touches them. Feel the joy inside as you witness this beautiful sight. You feel so light, so free, so happy.

     Now I want you to imagine yourself stretching out on the blanket. As you are laying on the blanket you feel the warm rays of the sun on your skin. You are feeling more relaxed and peaceful than you have for a very long time. As you are laying there on your blanket, imagine the energy of the sun filling all the places the worries use to occupy. You are now filled with warm healing energy. You are so peaceful. So happy. Now I want you to take a deep breath and imagine standing up and shaking the sand off of your towel. You pick up your sandals and start walking back up the beach. You love how light and happy you feel. So calm, so rested, so energized. You feel strong and in control. You know all is well.

     I will now count your steps. On the fifth step you will come back to the present feeling better than you have for a very long time. One, you stretch and feel so invigorated. Two, you feel the energy in you arms and legs. Three you take a deep breath and feel yourself becoming more alert. Four you are now coming back to present time feeling happy and knowing all is well. Five, open your eyes. You feel calmer, lighter and happier than you have in a very long time.
