LESSON #3

The Three Minds of Mankind

 

      In last weeks assignment on perception you were to document 3 events that you perceived differently than someone else who also experienced it.

 

     This assignment was designed to help you to understand how everyone’s “reality” is different, even though they are experiencing the same events or life.  Your reality is based on your understanding of a situation according to the parameters that have been established within you by your past experiences. 

 

     This understanding will help you in dealing with future clients.  All of their challenges, fears, goals and woes are based on "their" perception.  (Where they are presently in their lives, their understanding and their past programming as stated earlier).  An quick way to change any situation is to change the perception of it.  That is what hypnosis can do for them.

 

     Have you ever worked on a late night project that was not going well and at the time seemed to be totally hopeless?  Then after having a good nights sleep and returning to the same project, it seemed fine?  that is a great example of a different perception. 

 

1.  Re examining something after a good nights sleep.

2.  Stepping away from something for about an hour or so.

3.  Looking at a situation through someone else's eyes.

4.  Getting someone else's opinion on the situation.

Exercise:

     Practice “Thought Stopping” for one entire week. Go to page 227 in your Hypnosis Manual and read the short section there on the topic to understand how it works and why it is important.  This is one of the best ways to eliminate negativity and improve all areas of your life.

     Here’s how it works:  Whenever you hear, say or intercept something of a negative nature, no matter where you are, immediately say to yourself, “CANCEL”, out loud, and immediately change your thought process.  The act of sternly saying “CANCEL” calls attention to your mind to stop the thought process in it’s tracks, and the changing to a new though replaces it with something positive before it has a chance to be acted upon by the subconscious mind.

WARNING:  This is contagious.  People will hear you do this on
occasion and ask why you did it.  Tell them!  You will find
others around you begin doing it as well.  If you have a spouse
or a close friend that would like to do it with you it can be
lost of fun.  It can benefit both of you and also help you to
keep with it.
